A moderate amount of good stress on the Job is ordinary and welcome. Most of us would like to feel engaged and productive. It is letting the bothersome stressors build up that’s so detrimental to our health andwell-being. Especially in small to medium businesses, stress can be a major problem since you are the boss and have responsibilities to meet. Sometimes it is about doing something big such as hiring a specialised small business coach to boost your business entirely, there are many business coaching programs that could help in the long run and reduce stress.

We know that too much anxiety and stress can cause problematic health difficulties, such as immune deficiency disorders, chronic headaches, cardiovascular disease, along with a decreased capacity to recuperate from disease. A research on Workplace Wellness in September 2015, conducted by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, found that damaging workplace strain is extremely prevalent.

When we feel stress building up during the day, you will find several helpful things we can do to reduce this and balance out small day to day stresses.

  • Keep tasty healthful snacks available. Getting so involved with jobs and emails as the hours go by without food causes our blood sugar to fall, energy to collapse, and stresses to rise. It becomes too easy to go for that sugary beverage or food, and it can be a temporary fix which leads us directly back into another severe fall. Keep healthy snacks available and consume little quantities frequently (at least every 2 hours). Suggested food includes protein bars, nuts, dried fruit and rice crackers.
  • Do not answer all your emails at once. We’re flooded with Emails every day: a few are significant to the job we’re working on, and some that include information we could put off until after. Learn how to answer emails as a way of priority and significance, instead of attempting to keep up with all of them to keep stress to a minimum. Begin with the ones that require urgent attention first then prioritize and work through the others.
  • Take stretch breaks. A five-minute stretch breather each hour will not affect or get you behind at work, and is well worthwhile for stress relief and overall health. Ensure you stand up, put your arms over your head and softly sway side to side and don’t forget to do some neck rolls to reduce the tension. This stretching should go for about three minutes and take an additional two minutes doing some deep breaths. The next fifty-five minutes are surely going to be significantly more productive. Set a routine for stretching daily and start five minutes before you start work in the morning.
  • Maintain a stress sheet. When stress builds up, and there is more work to do and you’re concerned about keeping on top of it all, write it down on your “stress sheet.” Make notes on what the matter is and why you’re concerned. Create a column for potential answers and ways to overcome this, and make that blank. Then return to work and allow it to go. You’ve listed it so that you won’t forget, and your head will be free to concentrate on the job available. When it is time to move on to another task, you’ve already started. Another bonus is that your subconscious mind has already begun to produce alternatives; you may be amazed by how much more creative you are in solving it. This also functions at bedtime when you’re concerned about a problem on the job.
  • Take the time to laugh. Have a moment to laugh and chat with co-workers over the course of the day. This makes all the difference in not just your stress, but equally theirs too. Share a humorous joke, laugh at yourself, and join in the lively friendships with your team. This helps the whole team become happier and more effective. With this knowledge, we can help alleviate stress and minimise the severe repercussions of stress.

We’ll always have anxiety in the office - some good and some bad. The Objective is to use decent pressure to make ourselves more effective and minimize the awful stress to maintain our health and well-being. With this consciousness, we could alter our whole work day to the greater. Day to day stress can be minimised but essentially these are the small tips and sometimes the stress is too much and may be attributed to large factors related to your business. This is when you should consider turning to business management specialists to help you succeed and relieve pressure allowing you more leisure time. So is stress is simply becoming too overbearing due to the state of your small business, it may be time to search for strategic business advice from professionals.
